  SBR (Sequencing Batch Reactor)

The flexibility of the ENVICARE SBR concept

SBR plant operation is continuously adjustable in order to maintain full relation between wastewater load and duration of each sequence in the operating cycle.

• In case of e.g. load increase after construction, the capacity of an established SBR wastewater treatment plant can easily be increased by placing more reactors parallel with the reactors in operation.

• Plants can be designed for removal of organic matter with built-in possibility for subsequent upgrading in order to obtain nitrogen and phosphorous removal even in case of most stringent discharge demands.

The reliability of the ENVICARE SBR concept

• Flushed-out sludge due to hydraulic overload of the sedimentation process does not exist, as no inlet and outlet takes place during sedimentation and the outlet is effectuated without disturbance of the underlying sludge layer.

• In case of major variation of load, the SBR plant are still able to obtain purification of high stability.

SBR plant maintenance is minimal, because the ENVICARE SBR concept does not use any mechanical or electrical parts in the process volume but integrates the energy saving characterisation at the same time.

SBR operation

What is SBR?

SBR is an acronym for Sequencing Batch Reactor. SBR is an activated sludgetreatment process, where all processes are performed in one single reactor.

SBR operation

SBR operation includes different phases, such as fill, react, settling, decanting and idle.
