On an international basis there is a huge
demand for treatment of waste water in rural
and sparsely populated areas. The
cost-effectiveness of large centralized
high-technology waste water treatment plants
is very poor under these conditions, and
therefore alternative more appropriate
solutions are needed.

Based on more than ten years of experience
with more than 150 low-technology wastewater
treatment systems in Denmark, as well as
experience from systems in other European
countries, the United States and Australia,
we have attained an updated specialized
knowledge on design and performance of
low-technology waste water treatment system,
